Deleting files and folders failure

Hello,

I got a warning while copying files to my Apollo Cloud that the disc was almost full and certain features would not work. In fact the dashboard claimed that the disc was 80% full, presumably with 500GB remaining.

I deleted one of the failed USB transfer's folders… the file system on the Apollo doesn't really tell the user enough to compare original and copy folders other than counting files and folders manually.

This folder has now disappeared from the files window but the trash view/tab/window says that the trash is empty. Shortly afterwards, I got a warning dialog to say that files could not be deleted.

The disc usage indicator still says 80%.

Nothing in the trash, folder disappeared but still no change to the available disc space?

It's taken 9 hours to copy 175GB so there's time for a reply from Promise before anything significant happens… since the transfer is likely to take about 3-4 days.

Hi John,

When you delete the folder from the files menu the files will be moved to Trash folder. Kindly clear the trash folder for the space to be reflected.

Hello,

I think you misread my post. You cannot empty the trash while there is nothing in it.

In fact, after some hours, the Apollo did show some files in the trash which I then emptied. Perhaps your reply could have mentioned the slow file system.

In the meantime, I have had another transfer fail. This means that in the 5 months I have owned the Apollo, I have never once managed to transfer a set of files from either a USB drive or my computer without a breakdown of some sort.

Is this normal?
