I want to use my pegasus with both machines concurrently. I go out travelling to take photos, and when I return I transfre them to the pegasus. I like to be able to access them remotely, so will access my mac mini while on the road. Every time I disconnect the pegasus from my macbook pro it powers down...

Hi Earl,

The Pegasus3 unit is a DAS unit, it can be connected to only one computer at a time. With the additional thunderbolt port, you can connect upto 6 Pegasus unit.

Thanks very much Pradeep.

As a follow up question - Can I port the pegasus to my mac mini without reformatting the drives? I have data that I cannot lose stored on the pegasus currently.

Hi Earl,

Yes, you can connect the Pegasus unit to a different MAC system without formatting. Kindly make sure to install the Pegasus3 drivers for MAC before connecting the unit.

Go to the link below to download the Pegasus3 dirvers for MAC.

When you connect the Pegasus unit to a different system, and if you get a message that the drive you have inserted in not readable, kindly click on ignore on the popup, if you initilize the drive the unit will be formatted.

Pradeep C
