What is the subject disk error on a NS4300N? What is BSL?

Hi Terry,

BSL is Bad Sector Log, it means there is a bad sector on the disk. In later Promise firmware they are referred to as Bad Blocks.

One or even a few bad sectors is not a problem, but if they keep increasing, then the disk should probably be replaced, especially if it's a very old disk, disk failure is likely.
