To fix vulnerabilities, I attempted a firmware upgrade on my Vess 2600fi.

I don't know what version of firmware I had before, but assume it was the original.  The warranty expired in 2017 if that gives anyone an idea.

I attached to the GUI and started the upgrade.  The screen had the large spinning icon (which is normal) for a very long time.  I came back the next day and the spinning icon stopped.  But I could no longer access the browser.  I restarted the 2600fi and according to the lights on the front, I had lost my RAID.  Also, I could no longer ping the array.

From here, I attached via serial (115200, 8N1).  I could type (and see what was on my screen) but it never prompted for username or password.

I restarted the array again and I have the content of what it said, but this site won't allow me to upload it.  I either get the field contant must be a string with a maximum length of 10000 or an error occurred.  If anyone sees a reason to view it, let me know and I can email it to you.

 

At this point it didn't do anything further.  No prompting for anything, I mean.

I also attempted to go to the default IP addresses of the management port (10.0.0.1) and tried the iscsi ports using 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.3.  None of those worked.

Next, I removed the controller and removed the battery and reinstalled the controller for a few minutes.

Now I don't see anything via serial either.

Is there anything else I can do at this point?  Is there a factory reset or something familiar?  After looking at the controller (inside and out), I didn't see anything that might do it.

I want to see if there is anything further that can be done.
