Best RAID with two Promise Pegasus systems

I have two Promise Pegasus 2 systems, a R6 with 6x2 TB disks and a R4 with 4x3 TB disks.

At the moment both run on RAID5 with 10TB available on the R6 and 9TB available on the R4.

I would like to use one of them as a backup for the other. Am I correct in assuming that I could use RAID0 for both and have two 12TB disks as safety is not an issue if I use one as a backup disk?

Hi Emile,

You can create RAID 0 however if any one drive failed the logical drive will go offline. Make sure there should data backup.

If I select RAID 0 and one drive fails; can put in a new drive, reformat and put the backup back?

Yes, you will have recreate new array and restore data.
