Hi all

I was having issues with my spare drive on my R6 gen1not showing up in the Pegasus utility and the bottom blue led on the drive enclosure showing off (not illuminated). I have a identical spare spare ha ha. I swopped the bad spare drive with my new similar drive. When I booted back up on my mac mini OS 10.8.5, I had a warning screen giving me options to accept or put the raid off line. I clicked accept but got some warnings about a degraded raid. I did not see any degraded warning with the bad spare drive with the system booted previous.

Is there a correct way to eject, unassign the bad spare drive and configure the new spare? The unconfigued button was greyed out when I installed the new spare so I put the old spare drive back in, booted up and now the drive shows up in P utility. But with errors still naturally. Sorry but the manual is mostly over my head with terminology I cant comprehend. Thanks for any help on this.

Mike

The Pegasus is a hotswap chassis and is designed to have the drives changed while it is on.
