Mounting legacy Pegasus issue...

I have an old iMac that end of lifed, attached to it I have a Pegasus R6 (TB1) that I now need to get some media/files off of.

No worries, i have an iMac pro at work (with a Pegasus3 R6) I have the adaptor cable, jam it in the back of the iMac Pro and off I go.

Well...it doesnt mount properly, I can see both Pegasus in Disk Utilities but only the P3 mounts properly...meaning icon on the desk top.

I did try the Dext Driver...though i know that probably wouldn't work...and it didn't, so I'm kinda stuck.

If anyone can offer some advice as to how I can mount the old Pegasus would be great...not life or death, just need to get at some old files.

Pegasus R4i - using disks in an external device?

My MacPro 2019 is going to be sold soon and I was wondering if I could continue using the 4 disks of my Pegasus R4i (RAID 5) in an external device, connected to my new Mac Studio?

Thank you in advance.

Pegasus R4i ACTUAL drive compatibility and use..........

Is there really anything to look for when selecting replacement drives?

Also, I know they are pretty much EOL, only work in one machine and this would mean no Apple GPU, BUT, can you use 2 R4is in the same Mac Pro and RAID all 8 drives together?

no access to Apollo Promise

Hello,

I have an Apollo Personal Cloud 4TB

Since yesterday, I can no longer access my files. Until yesterday morning, everything was working fine: I was able to connect and see my data as usual on my Mac.

Now, when I try to log in with the Apollo Cloud app on my Mac, I get this error message:
“Impossible to access public server” / “Impossible d’accéder au serveur public.”

I tried several times, including after restarting my NAS and my Internet box. The NAS indicator turns green for a while, then switches back to white.

I also tried to log in from the Apollo Cloud mobile app, but all passwords (including the last one I used and any new ones I tried to reset) are refused as “incorrect.”
It seems impossible to reset or change my password.

I have not changed anything in my local network or setup. Everything was working fine just yesterday.

Can somebody explain to me what is happening please ?

Is this a maintenance issue on the server, or a permanent shutdown? Will the service come back online?

Is there any way to recover access to my data, even locally, without the cloud server?

This situation is very critical as my files are important. And i need to have acces before a major Tech Event.

Thank you for your help and an urgent answer.

apollo-client integrate with aws lambda

Hello Folk's,

I'm using apollo-client on the front end to send graphql requests to my aws lambda app. I looked at using apollo on the lambda as well, but this seems to complicated, instead I just want to use plain graphqljs, how do I go about this? All the examples I looked seem to itnegrate with apollo on the aws certified lambda end.

Help me out!

NS4300 Dead. How can I get my data off the raid 5?

My NS4300 SmartStor NAS is dead and will not boot. I've taken the drives out and reseated them. I've pushed the power button but get nothing. I've unplugged the NAS and then plugged back in. I can see the green light on the power button but it is very faint. I can feel the fan working in the back but the box will not do anything. I assume it is dead or needs a power supply.

My question is can I take the drives out of the dead NAS and put them into another NAS and have it boot so I can see the data? If that is possible what NAS box will work? If not possible, how can I get my data off the drives of a dead NAS?

This is for the NS4300N.

Help - setting up iSCSI node

Hello everybody!

I have no prior experience with iSCSI and I would like to ask for a little guidance.

I currently have a VessRAID 1830i up and running. There is a link aggregation between all the four ports of the controller and a windows server (initiator) mounts at boot the folders of the VessRAID. It all works (with my great happiness).

Now, I need to set up a new Debian server which should mount the VessRAID partitions (via iSCSI) without interrupt the service on the windows server.

I was hoping to initiate a new iSCSI session on the Debian server, and access the files both from the windows and the Debian server. But I soon found out that it's not possible to have multiple connections on the same ports.

So, can you confirm me that what i need to do is to modify the present linked aggregation from:

(port1 master, port2 slave, port 3 slave, port4 slave)

to two aggregations: (port1 master, port2 slave) (port 3 master, port4 slave)

Then create a new iSCSI node on the new link and after that I would be able to initiate the connection with open-iscsi on Debian?

Would the windows server be influenced by it (beside, i assume, a very short network disconnection and a lower transferring speed)?

Is there any precaution you would advise me to take before I start?

Thanks very much!

Pegasus2 R4 over eSATA w/ MacBook Pro (2016) & CalDigit T3 Dock

Hello,

I have a Pegasus2 R4 that I've been using for years with a MacBook Pro (2013). I recently upgraded to a MacBook Pro (2016) which doesn't have ThunderBolt 2. In order to connect it up, I'm using an Akitio T3T Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter.

However, I ordered a CalDigit TS3 which arrived this morning. It has dual eSATA ports. Rather than using the Thunderbolt2 -> Thunderbolt 3 adapter, I'm wondering if there is any kind of adapter that would allow me to use it via an eSATA port, to free up the ThunderBolt 3 port, and if there would be any noticeable difference in performance.

Thanks!

Files Missing from search but are there

I have a Pegasus R6 connected to a Mac Mini as a server. I can access the drive through the network. We have been experiencing that some file are not showing up in the folders when we access them through the network. But when I go to the computer directly connected to the R6 I can see that files are there. This is happening randomly with old and new files.

Any ideas why these file are not being indexed or hidden?

Operation of Pegasus 2 and 3 with MacBook Clamshell

On macOS Sierra 10.12.3 I have a new MacBookPro connected to a Pegasus 2R4, a Pegasus3R4, and a Thunderbolt 27 inch Monitor. The Pegasus 2 is connected to the monitor and the Pegasus 3 is connected to the MacBook USB-C port. Every thing is working well when operating.

I need advice on how to shutdown easily and startup without having to open the clamshell. If I do a regular shutdown, I must open the clamshell to start the system up again. If I just put it to sleep, a problem occurs from time to time. The monitor shuts down, the 2 Pegasus units shutdown and it seems to be off, But in a few minutes the Pegasus units come back on and stay that way for 2 or 3 minutes and then shutdown again. I have observed this happening even hours later. I thought it might be the Time Macine backup so I turned that off, but still sometimes get the restart and then shutdown of the Pegasus disks right after putting to sleep. Any advice on settings to control this? Other than this behavior it all works well.
